What It Is

The major scale with a raised 4th degree - degree 4 of the major scale. Notes: A#, B#, C##, D##, E#, F##, G##.

Brighter and more suspended-sounding than plain major, because the raised 4th removes the only half step near the tonic.

Floating and dreamy - brighter than plain major, with a suspended, almost otherworldly quality from its raised 4th.
